Current Projects

I am at work on a nonfiction book, Coney, about the coney-style hot dog, which is found in the Midwest, as well as a third full-length collection of poetry, tentatively titled Animals Doing Things to Other Animals.

In summer 2017, I collaborated with paleontologists from across North America (including my GSU colleague Dr. Katy Smith in the College of Science and Mathematics) at the Western Science Center in Hemet, California. The resulting exhibition, Valley of the Mastodons, served as inspiration for a manuscript of poems, which won the 2019 Rattle Chapbook prize. The chapbook The Last Mastodon will be published in winter 2019.
