Fledge contest for first-year writing

Fledge, The Journal of Outstanding First-Year Writing at Georgia Southern University, announces its annual submission guidelines and contest. Faculty and students alike are encouraged to submit outstanding writing created by first-year students. All pieces are due by February 13, 2017, and submission guidelines can be found at the Fledge web site.
The contest will be awarded in four categories:
- Rhetorical Analysis, Review, and Critique
- Research, Argument & Synthesis
- Personal Essay, Memoir, Blog & Reflection
- Fiction & Poetry
Fledge welcomes multi-genre and multi-modal submissions across the four categories. All submissions to Fledge will also be considered for the contest. Winners will be invited to read their submissions and/or present their projects at an awards banquet at the end of April.
