Georgia Southern Opera

About the Program

Georgia Southern Opera offers a wide range of opportunities for any student to get involved at all levels of experience. Opera A performs fully staged operas with both piano and orchestra. Students take on full roles and have the opportunity to stage manage and assistant direct. Opera B introduces opera performance techniques with a scenes and one act program. Georgia Southern Opera’s outreach company takes opera on the road and out into the community. University students travel to local elementary, middle, and high schools performing opera for children, offering workshops, and presenting recitals in community venues. Georgia Southern opera students enjoy frequent and varied performance opportunities while sharing music throughout the region.

Any student can audition and participate in opera regardless of major. The repertoire is diverse in styles, genres, and languages to always offer our community new and exciting performances!

Auditions

Auditions are held every semester and requirements may vary by semester. Auditions are open to all Georgia Southern students regardless of major.
