About Dr. Gregory

Mezzo soprano Arikka Gregory is an active performer in concert and on the stage. She has performed principle roles with Austin Lyric Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Opera in the Heights, Treasure Coast Opera, and Seaside Music Theater.  Her operatic roles performed include Siebel in Faust, Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, and L’Enfant in L’Enfant et les sortileges. She has been seen on stage most recently in performances with Procantus Lyric Opera, including The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors and Lucia in Cavalleria Rusticana. Looking back at her work as a concert artist, including guest performances as soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, and Durufle’s Requiem, she is most proud of having been the alto soloist under the baton of the late Robert Shaw in a performance of Mendelssohn’s Elijah.

Gregory has held faculty positions at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, The University of Florida, Concordia University, and St. Phillip’s College.  She completed her doctorate in voice performance at the University of Texas, her master of music degree at Florida State University, and her bachelor of arts degree at the University of Florida.
