Adam Sikes to spend semester at the Université de Picardie

Congratulations to Adam Sikes, an outstanding student from Georgia Southern University, who will spend a semester abroad at the Université de Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens, France, in Spring 2020. A double-major sophomore, Adam will take classes in Political Science and French while abroad. Amiens is a beautiful French city with an important judicial tradition, the largest university hospital in France, and the largest 13th-century Gothic Cathedral. The French writer Jules Verne lived in Amiens and served on the city council for more than a decade at the end of the 19th century. In anticipation of his experience, Adam remarked, “I could never have gotten where I am without the kindness and encouragement from my French teachers. Really, it’s them that I owe so much to, from giving me a passion for French to realizing that I can go beyond the classroom and learn in France. My French teachers have been my mentors and my friends, and I am beyond lucky that they have been so willing to share their passion with me.” Felicitations, Adam, et bon voyage!
