Student delivers speech in Japanese
Alexander Coleman, student of Dr. Noriko Mori-Kolbe, represented our university at the 28th Annual Japanese Speech Contest held on March 2, 2019 at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. The event was co-organized by the Georgia Association of Teachers of Japanese, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Georgia, the Japan-America Society of Georgia, and the Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta. Alexander delivered a speech about the Georgia Southern Japan summer study abroad program in Kyoto. “It was a very good experience,” he reported. “I was very nervous because there were many other people there, but I feel like I remembered my speech well. Hearing other people’s speeches definitely helped my Japanese skills.” Congratulations, Alexander, for rising to the challenge and using your language skills beyond the classroom.
