World Book Day

The annual World Book Day is celebrated on April 23. To mark the occasion, the Department of Foreign Languages offers a reading–virtual or in person–around that time (possibly even on several days). Students, faculty, and staff who are interested in participating may read or recite (or sing?) a short poem, a song, a short story, a fragment of a novel or essay, or something along these lines in the language they are learning or teaching. It would also be nice if readers explain briefly why they have chosen what they are reading. Contributions should not last longer than about five minutes (rehearsing beforehand is strongly recommended…). Further details will be made available closer to the event.
