Throughout the academic year, we host visiting scholars, published writers, or conversations with alumni. We’ve had Pulitzer Prize-winning writers Andrew Sean Greer and Jericho Brown, New York Times Best-Selling author Stacy Willingham, and many others.

Preparing for Graduate School

Are you preparing for graduate school? Do you have questions about the process? Well, this event is just for you! Preparing for Graduate School is an informational Q&A with Dr. Lindsey Chappell, the Director of Graduate Studies in English. This event is typically held every September.

So, you want to be an English Major?

Are you interested in joining our department as an English major or minor? Do you have questions about what to expect? This event is just for you! Our undergraduate student organization, Sigma Tau Delta, prepares questions to ask a panel of our current English students about what to expect as an English major or minor. The informal discussion is followed by a lively Q&A session.

Talking Internships: Professional Development Workshop

Are you curious about internships? Do you have questions? Well, this event is just for you!” Talking Internships” is an informational Q&A with Professor Mroczek. The event will feature a brief overview of the internship process, information about internship opportunities for college credit, and an extended Q&A. This event is typically held every November on Zoom.

What to Expect in Graduate School

Our undergraduate student organization, Sigma Tau Delta, prepares questions to ask a panel of our current graduate students about what to expect in graduate school. The informal discussion is followed by a lively Q&A session. This event is typically held every April on Zoom.
