Conditional Admission

Conditional Admission to Georgia Southern

Students who have completed high school and want to apply for freshman undergraduate admission but need to improve their English first, can apply for conditional admission. To apply for conditional admission, do the following:

  1. Complete the Georgia Southern Undergraduate Application.
  2. Complete the Conditional Admission Form.
  3. Submit the Application Fee at the end of the application process.
  4. Mail Your Academic Transcripts. Be sure to request copies of your official transcript, mark sheet, exam results, and certificates/diplomas for all secondary coursework in the original language from your secondary school. Academic records must have a seal or an original signature. Photocopies are acceptable if they are noted as “Certified True Copy” and signed by a school official. If your records are not in English, you must include a certified English translation of all documents.
  5. Apply for an I-20 by sending an official financial document and the SEVIS Data Form.
  6. Submit a copy of your passport ID page.

What does the Financial Document do?
This document must demonstrate that you or your guarantor have enough money to pay all of your educational and living expenses for at least one academic year. The amount must be more than $24,857. If you are bringing dependents (children and/or spouse), an additional $3,586 USD per dependent must be documented. See this link for a sample financial document.
My bank cannot provide a letter in English. What do I do?
If your bank cannot provide a letter in English, the original letter must be submitted along with an official translation.
