Oct. 16, 18, 20 (matinee 2 p.m.) 22, 24, 26

This fall we present the work of two of the best writers of British farce – Oscar Wilde and Noel Coward. In rotating rep, you can come on one night and see Wilde’s rambunctious romp through Victorian ideals. Identity and class try to get in the way of true love (and tea and cake) in this classic comedy of love.  Come back another night to see Coward’s take on class and manners in the Jazz age of the 1920s. The Bliss family doesn’t like to play by the rules and their hapless guests are at the mercy of these eccentric oddballs. With two full weeks of performances, you can be sure to get into both productions.

Jesus Christ Superstar

Jesus Christ Superstar

Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Lyrics by Tim Rice
Music Director– Joey Bielik
Directed By Lisa L. Abbott, SDC
Choreographer– Mathyn Miller

February 27, 28, 29 and March 1 (Matinee 2 p.m.)

Once again Georgia Southern Theatre and the Performing Arts Center are partnering to produce a major musical for the GSU community. This spring Webber and Rice’s rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar will explode on the PAC stage. Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for over 40 years. A timeless work, the rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally-known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Superstar follows the last week of Jesus Christ’s life. The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire.
