Oct. 16, 18, 22, 24, 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 20 (matinee 2 p.m.)

This fall we present the work of two of the best writers of British farce – Oscar Wilde and Noel Coward. In rotating rep, you can come on one night and see Wilde’s rambunctious romp through Victorian ideals. Identity and class try to get in the way of true love (and tea and cake) in this classic comedy of love.  Come back another night to see Coward’s take on class and manners in the Jazz age of the 1920s. The Bliss family doesn’t like to play by the rules and their hapless guests are at the mercy of these eccentric oddballs. With two full weeks of performances, you can be sure to get into both productions.

Once again Georgia Southern Theatre and the Performing Arts Center are partnering to produce a major musical for the Georgia Southern community. Godspell was the first major work by three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden). Based on the book of Matthew, a group of people help Jesus tell the palpable through games, song, and various storytelling techniques. An eclectic blend of song, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the stories of Jesus’ teaching are shared. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, the message of kindness, tolerance, and love comes vibrantly to life.
