Auditions

Anyone interested in auditioning for a performance should follow Theatre & Performance Audition Protocols.

Auditions are open to all students regardless of major.

The next auditions will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 for the Spring Production of Urban Rabbit Chronicles and Riders to the Sea. Urban Rabbit is a world premier so the script is not available publicly.  Actors interested in reading the script should contact Director, Nicholas Newell at nnewell@georgiasouthern.eduRiders should be easily findable on line or in the library. Auditions will be cold reads.  Actors can sign up for audition times at the Center for Art and Theatre Box Office starting the week prior to Thanksgiving Break.

Urban Rabbit Chronicles by Steve Harper is a psychological thriller about ambition, faith, creativity and how much a person is willing to sacrifice to get what they want.  This World Premiere production will feature Georgia Southern Students and will run April 15th-22nd at the Center for Art and Theatre    
Steve Harper is an award winning playwright and screenwriter of such television shows as God Friended Me (CBS), American Crime (ABC)Tell Me Your Secrets (TNT)Send Me (BET) and Covert Affairs (USA). He is a graduate of Yale, Harvard, and Julliard.  His plays have been produced and developed at New York Theatre Workshop, Classical Theatre of Harlem, New York Stage and Film Malibu Playhouse and American Theatre Company of Chicago. As an Actor he has performed at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Guthrie Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse, in the television shows Rescue Me and Law and Order and the Oscar Nominated film Chico and Rita.  Steve’s Web Series Send Me and series American Crime are Emmy nominated, and Steve himself has won the Artistic Achievement Award from the Afro-American Cultural Center at Yale, Two Le Compte du Nouy awards from Julliard, two Yaddo Fellowships, a Millennium Telly Award, a MacDowell Colony New Fellowship, and has been recognized by the Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival, and the Indy Fest Film Award.
