The Artist:
Best known for his paintings of historical icons, Penley has become one of America’s most popular artists. Penley’s development as an artist has culminated with a unique style of bold color, strong brush strokes and vivid imagery. This painting highlighting the legendary Georgia Southern University football coach, Erk Russell, is the most recent addition to the Betty Foy Sanders Georgia Artist Collection. Mrs. Sanders and Mr. Penley presented it to the University this past Fall.
