The Artist: Ouida Canaday – formerly of Tampa, Fla. – studied at the University of Tampa, Sarasota School of Art, and Georgia State University. An art teacher in the Decatur area who often lead world-wide art tours, Canaday served as panel member for the Georgia Council for the Arts, vice president of Georgia Arts Commission, and a member of several Atlanta-area artists’ association boards of directors. Her works have been included in numerous collections and selected for many major juried exhibitions.

About the Artwork: Canaday’s painting “Ossabaw” proudly hangs next to her pupil, Betty Foy Sanders’, painting “Coastal Sand Dunes,” which also depicts the dunes of Ossabaw Island.
