The Artist: Stephen Bayless, a native of Arizona, taught art in Oregon, Washington, and Ohio before finding his way to the campus of Georgia Southern College in 1976, where he served as professor and department head until his retirement in 1989. His work is represented in numerous collections, including those of the Burger King Corporate Headquarters and Walt Disney World. He died on March 18, 2001 at the age of 74.
