Flynn gave keynote address at the Poetry Institute of China

Richard Flynn, professor of English in the Department of Literature, was invited to deliver a keynote address entitled “Poetry for Young People in Anti-Poetic Times” at The Poetry Institute of China’s “1st Symposium on the Current Situation and Future Development of Children’s Poetry” held August 18-23 at the Qishu Lake Wonderland Hotel in Hongcun in the Anhui Province in China.  In addition to The Poetry Institute of China, the symposium is sponsored by a number of academic institutions including the Academy of Chinese Poetry (Peking University), The School of Foreign Languages (Peking University), and the Danzeng College of Humanities.  The Institute was a generous and gracious host in sponsoring Flynn’s travels and sharing some of the areas geographical and cultural treasures.
