CLASS Adds Helen Ryan Collins Memorial Scholarship
The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and the Center for Irish Research and Teaching announce the addition of the Helen Ryan Collins Memorial Scholarship in Irish Studies.
The scholarship was endowed by Tom Collins and his family to honor the memory of his mother, an emigrant from the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland to New York City.
The Helen Ryan Collins Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to a student that has been recommended by a faculty member, has a passion for Irish culture, is in good academic standing, and has a financial need.
The scholarship is the fourth scholarship housed in the Center for Irish Research and Teaching.
The scholarship was awarded for the first time in June to Rachel Dagget. Dagget is pursuing a double major in English and Writing and Linguistics.
