Foreign Language Emeritus Professor Publishes English Translation of French Novel

Zanzibar cover
Emeritus Professor David W. Seaman, Ph.D., M.H.L., has published an English translation of Gabriel-Aldo Bertozzi’s Return to Zanzibar. Bertozzi’s 256-page novel was originally published in French.
In the novel the protagonist tracks his runaway lover across France, Italy, and Greece, and into Africa on the trail of French poet Arthur Rimbaud, who disappeared in Zanzibar after a short but remarkable career.
The novel involves riddles that are poetic, mathematical, biblical, and alchemical. For this translation, Seaman drew on his experience in France, Italy, and Greece, and on his travels in Africa. The novel is available from Amazon and on Kindle.
