French professor collaborates on award-winning poetry translation
Aspettando la fine del mondo/Waiting for the End of the World, a volume of poetry written by Caterina Davinio, was recently awarded Honorable Mention in the International Competition “Le Grazie – Porto Venere La Baia dell’Arte.” Dr. David W. Seaman, professor of French in the Department of Foreign Languages, wrote a critical note and collaborated in the translation of the volume to English. This award implicitly recognizes the importance and value of translation for the dissemination of ideas, an endeavor that Seaman has embraced over the course of his career.
