Present-Continuous to perform during On the Verge concert series
The Department of Music at Georgia Southern University presents the second Spring installment of its On the Verge Concert Series on Monday, February 24, when Present-Continuous, the New Music Ensemble of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, performs in the Carol A. Carter Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m.
Present-Continuous, directed by Alejandro Rutty, is a prime example of the current trends in classical music, and its concerts feature contemporary cutting-edge compositions.
“On the Verge is designed to give Georgia Southern students and Statesboro-area residents exposure to ensembles and concerts that they might otherwise not have access to,” said Martin Gendelman, DMA, coordinator of the series. “By hearing the latest sounds in contemporary classical music, musicians of all ages and levels can expand their repertoire and might be inspired to try something new.”
All On the Verge concerts are free and open to the public. The concert series is made possible through support of the Campus Life Enrichment Committee. The Carol A. Carter Recital Hall is located in the University’s Foy Building, behind the Fielding S. Russell Union. For more information, contact the Department of Music at 912-478-5396.
