Scripts for 10-Minute Play Festival accepted through Dec. 6

Communication Arts and Theatre South are accepting submissions for the 2013 10-Minute Play Festival. Students may submit scripts for consideration electronically to labbott@georgiasouthern.edu as a Microsoft Word document. All submissions are due Dec. 6 and will be reviewed by a panel of juried readers. Eight to 10 scripts will be selected for the festival, and each selected script will be assigned a director and a cast and will be workshopped during spring semester as a part of Theatre South’s programming. Writers must be available for rehearsals and workshops.

Concert readings will be presented in the Black Box Theatre at the University’s Center for Art and Theatre on Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20.

All script submissions must be formatted and submitted in a Microsoft Word document with a title page that includes:

  • Play Title
  • Writer’s Name
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address

Please only include your name on the title page of the script to uphold anonymity for the adjudicators. Scripts should be seven to 12 pages in length using a 12-point font. Students may submit as many scripts as they wish but only two scripts per writer will be included in the final grouping. Selected scripts will be announced the first week back from
Winter Break. Participation in and admission to the 10-Minute Play Festival is free for students.

The Department of Communication Arts and Theatre South encourages all students to participate in this event. Any questions should be directed to Associate Professor Lisa Abbott at labbott@georgiasouthern.edu.
