Georgia Southern PRSSA Chapter to Host Regional Conference

The Public Relations Student Society of America of Georgia Southern University will host the PRSSA Regional Conference for the second year in a row. This year’s theme “Y Are You in PR?” will be a study of generation Y and the public relations profession, and will be held Saturday, March 31, at the University.

The Regional Conference is a combination of interactive speaker sessions, networking opportunities and panel discussions. Focusing on public relations, communications, marketing and advertising students, attendees will discover how to bridge the gap of traditional and new communications tactics by understanding generational differences.

This year’s keynote is Kathryn Potter, senior vice president of marketing and communications for the American Hotel & Lodging Association based in Washington D.C.

“We are proud to host the PRSSA Regional Conference for a second year in a row, and to bring in one of our alumna to be the keynote speaker,” said Brianna Wagenbrenner, chapter president and Conference coordinator. “We look to fulfill our goal of bringing together generations of public relations and communications experts and students to learn from and network with each other.”

“We look forward to hosting the Regional Conference and inviting all the PRSSA and PRSA chapters in our region to come to our campus and be a part of a great program,” said Professor Michelle Groover, advisor to Georgia Southern PRSSA. “To host the PRSSA Regional Conference for a second year in a row speaks volumes about the dedication of Georgia Southern to PRSSA and the public relations industry.”
