Georgia Southern senior art exhibition on Armstrong Campus runs through Oct. 25, reception closing night
“Collective Illusions,” a senior art exhibition in Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus Fine Arts Gallery that features the work of Kelsey Jacobs, Christina Davis and Samuel Colon, is currently on display and will run through Oct. 25. On closing night, there will be a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. with artist talks at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and will serve food and refreshments.

The exhibit showcases the artists’ different techniques and styles through various media including ceramics, photography, digital art and watercolor.
Jacobs is a digital photographer and graphic designer. Her series focuses on photos of scenic landscapes of Georgia and South Carolina coasts.
“I am capturing places to those familiar with the scenery and challenging them to see it in a new light and perspective,” she said.
Davis is a sculptor whose series consists of primate skulls from the hominid family. Her works are displayed in the three-dimensional space so the viewer can see each skull in its entirety and appreciate the similarities and differences between each of them.
Colon is an illustrator who would like to work in the comic storytelling industry after graduation. His watercolor paint and digital software series features illustrations from his original stories.
“To be able to create what you imagine, there’s no greater joy for me,” said Colon.
