The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art hosted Holly Akkerman, the first speaker for their spring Professions in Practice Series, on Thursday, February 12. Akkerman is currently the Creative Director for the Jepson Center/Telfair Museum in Savannah, GA. Holly’s designs have been recognized by the American Association of Museums, Southeastern Museums Conference, Savannah Advertising Federation, and the Communicator Awards. Holly is active in her local design community, recently serving as the 2013 SEMC Publication Competition Chair and Judge. She is skilled at print design, branding, typography, photography, exhibition design, digital communications, and marketing. Holly is also an artist, museumist, and pattern designer.
