The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) presented The 2014 Undergraduate Juried Exhibition from April 4th through April 20th in the Contemporary Gallery at Georgia Southern University’s Center for Art & Theatre. The exhibition included a reception and award ceremony on Friday, April 4th, at 5 p.m. in the Center for Art & Theatre.

The juror for the exhibition was Henry Detweiler, an Atlanta based artist/writer/curator that holds a BFA from Georgia State University. Detweiler is currently the Gallery Director for MINT Gallery in Atlanta and has been a contributor to BURNaway, an online journal covering contemporary art and culture in the Southeast. His work has been included in exhibitions throughout Atlanta including venues such as the High Museum of Art, Whitespace Gallery, and The Goat Farm Art Center. He was included in the Summer 2013 issue of New American Painting (south), and was recently an Artist-in-Residence at the Vermont Studio Center. He is represented by Dashboard Co-op in Atlanta.

BFSDoArt is committed to offering superb undergraduate programs that prepare students to become professional artists, designers, art educators, and art historians. Recognizing its role in training the next generation of artists and designers, students enrolled at BFSDoArt are encouraged to think independently and develop their own artistic voice.
