BFSDoArt Graduate Students Featured in Georgia Southern Research Symposium
Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art Graduate students Ruth Patel and Janet Suarez were selected to participate in the 2014 Annual Research Symposium, Georgia Southern University. Each presented a poster that showcased their artistic research. Ruth Patel, focusing on installation art, presented creative research on the multiple perceptions of memory that reference details from interior spaces. Janet Suarez, focusing on painting, presented a poster of her abstract paintings that convey her artistic research on the harmful effects of plastic on the environment.
The Georgia Southern University Annual Research Symposium is a showcase of student and faculty research. The symposium includes speakers, poster and presentation sessions from all academic disciplines. All students and faculty involved in research are encouraged to submit their work and participate. Regional colleges and universities are invited to participate. This event is free and open to the public, and attendance verification will be provided.
The Research Symposium was held on April 15 -16, 2014, where Patel and Suarez presented posters on Tuesday the 15th at the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center, Georgia Southern University. More images of their artwork can be viewed on their websites: Ruth Patel & Janet Suarez
