Chili Bowl Sale

Don’t forget! October 18, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. , is the Empty Bowl Project chili bowl sale! For $10, patrons can buy a bowl of chili and keep the bowl as a reminder of the meal’s purpose, to serve those in need.1 Bowl = 70 Meals

Last year, the Empty Bowl Project sold over 250 bowls and raised $3,133 in proceeds that were given to the Statesboro Food Bank. For every dollar donated, the Statesboro Food Bank is able to provide the equivalent of seven meals to someone in need.
The 2010 census reading stated that 1/3 of Statesboro was considered living in poverty. The Statesboro Food Bank feeds anyone in need, however, they mainly service the working poor. During their after school program, The Boys and Girls Club of Statesboro, with help of the Statesboro Food Bank, feeds 250 under privileged children to ensure they are getting the nutrition they need. They also provide breakfast and lunch during the summer weeks when kids are not at school.
Dedicated to serving the public of Southeast Georgia, as well as the university community, the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art is geared towards an interdisciplinary interpretation of art and culture as it prepares students for professional careers as practicing artists and designers, or for work in other arts-related fields requiring study in the studio arts.
Be a part of the Empty Bowl Project, and help provide for this worthy cause!Empty Bowl Project, Chili Bowl Sale
