Collaborative concert featuring vocals, piano coming to Armstrong Campus
Georgia Southern University Armstrong Campus faculty member Emily Grundstad-Hall, D.M.A., and Professor of Piano Jens Marggraf of Martin Luther University in Halle, Germany, will present Crossing Borders, a collaborative concert Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus.
The concert will feature Grundstad-Hall singing and Marggraf on piano. The duo will be performing the works of Eisler, Schumann, Franz, Martinu, Mercer and more.

“(Marggraf and I) have a relationship that goes back about five years,” Grundstad-Hall said. “Halle, Germany, is the sister city to Savannah, and with a university in each town, it makes the two nicely connected. Jens has come to campus about three times now as a guest lecturer, and I recently traveled to Germany to present a recital and masterclasses to voice students there.”
The event is co-sponsored with The Teutonic Council, an organization comprised of three German Cultural Societies, including The German Heritage Society, The German Friendly Society of Savannah and The Georgia Salzburger Society.
