GSWP works with local schools to develop workshops for both students and teachers.
Our work with students includes youth writing camps, in-class writing workshops, and school and university collaboration projects. Work with local schools is always student- and/or teacher-driven.
Our work with faculty focuses on transformative professional development and teachers teaching teachers. We lead summer institutes for teachers of every grade level and subject area and work with local schools to address teacher and student needs. We have a longstanding partnership with Claxton Middle School that involves faculty book clubs (in person and online), week-long summer institutes, day-long weekend workshops, and collaborations between Claxton students and instructors with Georgia Southern students and faculty.
