MUSC 7530 – Digital Audio Montage

Graduate students

Examines the technical aspects and the aesthetic implications of digital audio software tools. The historical background of electronic music and theoretical underpinnings of digital audio techniques are covered. Students investigate these topics through the creation of music using the recording studio and an array of computing tools including multi-tracking software. A variety of topics related to digital audio will be covered with an emphasis on the techniques associated with the avant-garde. Offered alternate Fall semesters.
